From the analysis of Hoffmann and Suvorov ... Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the USSR peaceful or a preventive war?
The principal argument for assessing the intentions of an army and, consequently, those of the nation that is, is its location, its deployment. There are needs in the tactical and strategic national and whether right or dominant school at the time. For each army, and at all latitudes, a nation that has decided to pursue a political offensive, which has a deliberately planned attack must have, at least in the space provided for the background, a numerical superiority of at least three to one, and sufficient soldiers to oversee the entire front line and answer any counterattacks diversions. Was this not the situation in Germany in June 1941? Do not think so. In that particular case it was an attack not dictated by desire of conquest, but brought to avert or at least avert impending danger.
